MILFORD HOUSE
Milford House is a lovely Victorian house in the Duddingston area of Edinburgh. It is set in landscaped gardens and has an enclosed patio leading from the conservatory. There are four lounges, two lounges on the ground floor have original architectural features and have beautiful views into the gardens. One of the other lounges is designated for smokers.
ACCOMMODATION
At Milford House we have fourteen single rooms and nine shared bedrooms each individually decorated and fully furnished. Nine of the single bedrooms have en-suite facilities. The capacity of the home when full is for thirty-two residents.
NURSING AND MEDICAL CARE
Milford House provides twenty-four hour qualified nursing care. Each resident will be allocated a key worker to welcome and support them during their stay at Milford House Care Home. Residents may wish to retain the services of their current GP. If this is not possible, we will assist each resident to find a GP within the area.
CATERING AND SERVICES
All meals and snacks are prepared on the premises using good quality meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. There is home baking and a choice of menu. Meals are served in our dining area or in residents' own rooms. Special dietary needs are catered for.
We employ an activities organiser to provide diversional therapies to the residents. Residents are also able to participate in local activities; for example, tea dances, theatrical productions and church services. We also provide entertainment at Milford House for residents to enjoy.
Another service that the home provides is an in-house hairdresser.
All laundry is washed in-house. We would advise that items of clothing are machine washable and name tagged.
Milford House can provide short term stays for residents which enables families or carers to have a break.
Visitors are welcome at any time.
